It hits us all.
I can’t do this anymore. It’s hard, and I don’t have the self control to keep it up anymore. I give up.
Here’s what I have to say to you: Do not give up. You will inevitably start again in a few days, weeks, or months, and when you do, you’ll sorely regret having stopped now. Just think: you could get to your ultimate goal weight by the next time that you start dieting again, but you won’t know unless you keep going at it. Do you really want to lose the progress you’ve made? Think of all those hunger pains and back breaking exercises you’ve done! Are they all going to go to waste?
Now think of your thighs. Your stomach. Your collarbone. Your wrists. Your calves. Your arms. Your face. Are you happy with what you see?
If the answer is no for all of them (or even some of them), then why are you even considering quitting now? Isn’t happiness why you started this whole journey? Aren’t you telling yourself that you’ll only be happy when you’re thin?
Now think of the people who believed you couldn’t do it. Maybe they’re family members, strangers, or friends. Maybe it’s yourself. Don’t you want to prove that they’re wrong? That you’re wrong?
Now think of him. If a certain boy (or girl) doesn’t come to mind right now, then just imagine the one who strides into your life in the future. Do you want them to see you as overweight or skinny? Unhealthy or healthy? This might sound a little weird, but think of your wedding. Do you want to have to squeeze into a large wedding dress, or fit into a small, sexy one? (not saying that larger ones can’t be sexy, but you all know what I mean). And think of your wedding night ;). I don’t think I have to say much on the subject, but let me ask you this: are you comfortable undressing in front of someone? That’s what I thought.
Think of the summer. Bikinis. The beach. Boys. Bikinis. Hot. Sunglasses. Bikinis. If you keep going at the rate you are, you will be smokin in a swimsuit! Stop now and you’ll have the same summer as you always have. Not very appealing to myself, personally.
Think of new clothes. You’re most likely a girl if you’re reading this (I honestly don’t think I have a single boy following me), so I’m going to assume you love clothes (although who is to say boys can’t love clothes too?). Boots, coats, bathing suits, shirts, leggings, jeans, sweaters, heels, pants, shorts. A WHOLE NEW WARDROBE. That’s what you get if you succeed in losing weight! You can get rid of all the clothes you wear now (most likely not the most stylish, but I may be wrong), and shop for new, cute, adorable things to wear!
I’ll be honest here: I started writing this when I was weary and sick of this whole dieting process. But after having listed out the things above (and I could go on, but I know you want to get back to your thinspo), I feel a lot better. So I recommend that to you, too. Feeling down? Just go list out the reason you started this process. It really helps.
I know I’m back on track now. :)
